Young galaxies are everywhere
Well, they’re not here on earth. That’s just silly. But young galaxies are all over the place in space. In fact, none of them are more than several thousand years old. And in space time that’s young. Are you still with me?
Thinking about young galaxies makes me remember way back in 1964.
I’ve mentioned, before, how my Mom and Dad split up when I was a wee lad. Only about 4 1/2 or so. And my Dad remarried first. But a couple of years after that my Mom remarried. And my brother and I were blessed to have step-parents who were total opposites from all the step-parent stereotypes.
But, that’s not why I brought this up. After my Mom remarried, it was just a couple more years until she and my step-dad bought a brand new, shiny red, 1964 Ford Galaxy station wagon. And I still remember that as the first car I ever rode in with that “new car smell.”
So, there we were. In the summer of 1964. A new, young, blended family in a brand new Galaxy. And of course, we had to take everyone for rides in the new car. It was just the thing to do way back then.
Now, anyone who still has a 1964 Ford Galaxy station wagon is the proud owner of an old classic automobile.
But anyone who gazes toward the heavens, through a telescope or even just through their naked eyes, still sees young galaxies. Because, like I said, if they’re only a few thousand years old (and they are), then they’re not considered old.
But does it even matter?
Sure does. Because, it makes me happy.
And if that’s not enough reason for you, here’s what an amazing scientist says about it. “Slow, natural processes cannot form such huge galactic structures; rapid, supernatural processes may have.”
By the way, “supernatural processes” is just another way of saying…God did it.
And the good news is…
Since God designed the universe
And then redeemed us from our curse
We’ll live beyond the galaxy
In His great love, eternally.
