Have you ever noticed when someone’s really happy…how often they use other words for happy instead of happy?

I realize the word, happy, is a bit old-fashioned. But I think it still works very well. And it’s being used by millions of people every day. Happy birthday to you…happy birthday to you. See what I mean?

Many people like to build up the happy emotion though. They want to put their own feel into it. Their own spin on it. Their own joie de vivre. That’s just a fancy French expression for happy. Some other words for happy…or expressions…you might hear are…

• Jolly
• Cheerful
• Delighted
• I’m so excited
• I’m really stoked
• Walking on air
• On a high
• On top of the world

Delighted people laugh and seem to beam
Like banana splits with cherries and whipped cream.
They can’t keep it inside…
It’s just too fun to hide…
It’s like a cheery, merry, happy dream.
