Once or twice upon a time, there was a tiny nation by the name of Trochlea. And all the Trochleans had one job. They each had to help control a giant cord that threaded through a giant sling at the edge of town. For generations every Trochlean grew up knowing they’d be required to contribute to the work. But no one ever complained. Because they all knew their work was not the result of random mutation. It was by design. And they knew the design had purpose.
And they all knew random mutation had no purpose.
Oh sure, you could say it was for the “greater good” if you could just figure out who gets to say what’s good and what’s not. Or you could say random mutation eventually leads to purposeful mutation so that natural selection could happen, well, naturally.
Yeah, you could say those things.
But random mutations could never explain how something that’s absolutely necessary for existence could evolve while its own function would be necessary for it to evolve.
It’s all so discombobulated.
Except, it’s not. Because the Trochleans are actually a fiction of my imagination. What?! You already guessed that?! Well, aren’t you the clever one.
But there IS a sling, inside your head, called the Trochlea. To be precise, there are two slings. One for each of your eyes. And one of the muscles to each of your eyes goes through that little sling so that the muscle can move the way it’s supposed to in a very small space.
Random mutation could never make any beneficial changes to bone, cartilage, muscles, and nerves without the help of the Trochlea. That would be like having a bunch of nails but having to wait on a hammer to evolve in order to use them. Or even vice versa.
It’s just not scientific to say eyes could evolve.
It’s simply the evolution fairy tale religion.
But, if and when you’re ready to truly take a scientific look at eyes, it’s easy to see how wonderfully they’re designed. And how amazingly complex they are. And then, a closer look shows how they contain billions of bytes of information. So, how did all that information get there?
By design.
And that points you to the Designer.
So, as I write this message down,
I want each verb and every noun
To see, acknowledge, and applaud
How life is from the heart of God.
If you like to support re-creators and independent thinkers who love Jesus, get a copy of my classic CD, “Do Right.” It’s a collection of songs that most churches, these days, would consider mean. But they’re songs that share the truth about The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Here’s the eBay link:
