For some, the name Paul Revere might conjure up a band from back in the 60’s and 70’s. But it should bring to mind a great American and his famous “midnight ride.”

Paul Revere’s famous ride started at 10 p.m.
And he didn’t actually ride alone. But those are minor details when it comes to spotlighting a true patriot. Because when you consider how the British had already killed unarmed colonists, you see how dangerous Paul’s actions were.
He was part of the growing group of residents in “the colonies” who were tired of British tyranny. And they decided it was time for civil disobedience and eventually…rebellion. Because when a tyrannical government goes so far as to kill (or allowed its subjects/citizens to be killed), it’s time to disobey.
And that time has come to America again.
A group of patriots, calling themselves “We Are Paul Revere” have come up with five steps for what they call “How To Disobey.”
- Commit to a maskless life.
- Commit to social gathering
- And commit to working if you’re well.
- Prepare to be confronted.
- Be ready with an answer.
And they say, “If everyone disobeys, the shutdowns will be over. We are MILLIONS strong. They can’t stop us all.”
If and when you make this kind of commitment to disobey, you’ll probably feel at least a little of the danger Mr. Revere felt all those years ago. But think about this. When tyranny comes, and it’s already here, would you rather be an unarmed, misinformed victim? Or an apprehensive, yet confident, citizen armed with the truth?
Listen, my children, and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-Five:
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.
He said to his friend, “If the British march
By land or sea from the town to-night,
Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry-arch
Of the North-Church-tower, as a signal-light,
One if by land, and two if by sea;
And I on the opposite shore will be,
Ready to ride and spread the alarm
Through every Middlesex village and farm,
For the country-folk to be up and to arm.”
