I guess it’s not for everyone. In fact, amazingly enough, most people don’t want it and don’t even wanna talk about it. But the promise of living forever sounds mighty appealing to me. I can barely imagine not having that hope. Not having the security that hope provides. And I have a vivid imagination.
But, obviously, it’s not for everyone.
Just take a few seconds and read social media threads, beyond what your friends say. And it won’t be long till you see someone’s attempt at mocking God or anyone who believes and trusts in Him. And many of the people who do that claim to be in favor of “diversity and tolerance.” Yeah, right.
On the one hand, I get why Christianity is not for everyone. After all, it’s not always easy to be made fully aware of your many shortcomings in this life. And just because you’re a Christian doesn’t mean you don’t struggle with selfishness. It was the original sin. So, it stands to reason if the first two, perfect people were selfish, I am too.
But I’m not fully selfish. And I’m not totally controlled by the power of sin. Because the Lord of creation has intervened on my behalf. So, there is good in me because His Spirit is in me.
And as long as I acknowledge I’m not nicer or smarter than God, this world can’t keep me down as I enjoy life’s:
- smooth sailing,
- trials and tribulations
- growing up,
- gaining knowledge,
- building friendships,
- awards and rewards,
- challenges and failures,
- clouds and sunshine,
- joy and laughter,
- pain and redemption, and
- words and music
Yeah, I love life!
But even more than that, I love the source of life. If God didn’t exist, you and I wouldn’t exist. Simple as that.
And, sure, this place we’re in right now is amazing and difficult. But the next place will be unfathomably kinetic, energizing, and joyous. It will be unimaginably beautiful, sustaining, and buoyant. It’s gonna be full of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
But not for everyone.
That’s a shame because it’s easy to get there. Your ticket has been bought and paid. You just need to believe.
Not in “your dreams” or yourself. Or some metaphysical “force.” Certainly not in “the universe.” Or in the so-called “law of attraction.” And definitely not in Mohammed, Confucious, Buddha, Allah, or stupid political parties.
Only in Jesus.
The fate of your soul and spirit depends on Him. You owe it to yourself to discover why it’s so important? Don’t be part of the everyone who ignores the only One.
I love life and this chance to live it.
I’ve got news and I’m gonna give it
To the ones who’d like more of it.
Yeah, life is good. Don’t you just love it?!
