You can read the rest of this book on your iPhone or iPad if you get Henry Hippo’s Heartbeat on iTunes. Here’s a little bit from the book…
~ Henry was a hippo. And I don’t know if you know this, but hippos are HUGE. So when a huge hippo has a problem”it’s a huge problem.Young Henry couldn’t hear his heartbeat . And everybody knows you gotta have a heartbeat. After all, what good is a heart without a beat?
“If I can’t hear my heartbeat, maybe I don’t have a heart,”Henry thought to himself. “And I don’t even want to think about what could happen if I don’t have a heart.”
He looked over at Hugo and Howie.
They were sleeping in the cool river next to him and barely had their ears out of the water.
“Those guys are older than me,”he thought. “I bet they know all about hippo heartbeats.”
“Hey Hugo! Hey Howie!” he grunted. “Wake up you guys! I gotta ask you something. It’s important.”
Hugo just opened his eyes for a second or two and then closed “˜em again. Howie yawned a huge hippo yawn and asked,
“What do you want this time, Henry?”
And Henry blurted out, “Can you guys hear your heartbeat? I can’t hear mine, and I’m afraid of what might happen if I don’t have one.”
What do you think? Will Henry find his heartbeat? If so, how do you think he’ll do it? Well, go get the book and find out.
