Happy is he and that includes me
“Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help…whose hope is in the Lord his God”.
If you passed by me on the street, you might not be able to tell if I was happy, sad, gloomy, or glad. It just might not show on my face. That’s just how life is. But take my word for it.
You could say, “Happy is he,” because happy is me.
(hey, I rhyme things…it’s what I do)
But I’m not without trials and troubles. Far from it. But I’m happy. There’s no promise of a life without trials and troubles…at least not in my Christian faith. Maybe there’s a religion somewhere that teaches life is just an illusion. Maybe there are religions teaching peace, love, and joy with a blind eye toward the evil and destruction in the world. But my faith in God says there will be trials and troubles. And it also says “fear not”.
Fear not and “be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”.
Happy is he who remembers the promises, like this one, found throughout the Bible. I don’t personally know anyone who’s gone through life (or is going through life) with no problems. Do you know anyone like that? Because if you do, could you ask them to get in touch with me? I’d love to know their secret.
There will be challenges today.
We really don’t have a choice about what kind of world we’re born into. But we do have a choice about how we’ll take on those challenges. You’re not required to be glad for the problems of this world. But once more…here’s my recommendation to love by…
“Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help…whose hope is in the Lord his God”.
