The age of Earth is as good as gold
It’s sort of ironic how I use the expression, good as gold, to talk about the age of the earth. After all, good as gold is kind of an old expression. And maybe younger readers and listeners have never heard it. Well, you have now. And it’ll all make more sense shortly.
This case against an old molten earth is as good as gold.
I didn’t realize how long people have been saying Earth is millions and billions of years old. Apparently textbooks, for over 200 years, have been saying Earth was a molten mess over 500 million years ago. We humans sure know how to maintain our knucklheadedness. With all the advances in scientific research, you’d think that information could have been updated by now. But you’d be wrong if you thought that.
Anyway…why do I say Earth’s not all that old? And why do I say this reason is as good as gold? Well, you’ve heard me mention Dr. Walt Brown many times, here on the website and on my podcast. And he has a huge list of reasons why evolution and millions or billions of years don’t explain our existence.
One of those reasons explains how, if Earth had been a molten mess all those years ago, then when it slowly cooled, the heavy metals would sink to the bottom. He also explained how gold is 70% more dense than lead and yet it’s found at the Earth’s surface. You don’t have to journey to the center of the Earth to find it.

And just because I say this explanation is as good as gold, you don’t have to take my word for granite. Speaking of granite…it’s pretty much the main ingredient on the surface of the Earth. And granite’s made up of mixture of minerals. And if granite had cooled slowly over long periods of time, the minerals that cooled first would have sunk to the bottom. That means granite would be layered minerals instead of clumped minerals.
Now, don’t get me started on xenon and zircon.
I’ll be glad to talk about those, too. But they’re not as good as gold. Well…not as shiny anyway.
