Relax. It’s gonna be alright.
I’m a big fan of the old black and white movies. Especially from the 1940’s and 50’s. And I remember a scene from an Alfred Hitchcock movie called “Strangers on a Train” where a guy tells one of the main stars, Robert Walker, to relax. And Walker’s character snaps back, “I don’t wanna relax!” I won’t give away what’s going on. Check it out for yourself. And that sort of scene has played out in so many movies and TV shows. Because there always seems to be those who believe everything’s gonna be alright and those who don’t believe that for a minute.

When somebody tells you to relax, or at least makes that suggestion, do you immediately tense up? Or maybe you even get mad. If so, have you ever wondered why that is? Because if someone who cares about you says, “Relax, it’s gonna be alright,” it’s probably because they want you to relax and feel better. Makes sense. Right?
But maybe you think, “How do YOU know it’s gonna be alright?”
And, on the surface, that’s sort of a valid point. Unless somebody DOES know.
And maybe that’s what makes you mad. Because how can they already know that and you don’t?
Well, I’m gonna go out on a limb here (as I often do) and say everything will NOT be alright. And if you’ve followed me for any length of time at all, you know I’m not a pessimist. So, why would I say that? Because it’s true.
Everything includes everything. And it leaves nothing out. So, to say everything will be fine, when it’s crystal clear that’s not even true right now, is just plain silly.
But here’s the thing.
Everything can eventually be alright.
But it won’t just happen, for anyone, by accident. No, it’ll be like most all things in life. And that means it’ll come down to choices you and I make. What are you gonna choose to do? And what kind of person will you choose to be? And will you choose to find out if truth exists? Or do you plan to skip the choosing part and just let life happen? Guess what. That’s a choice.
So, make good choices you can live with.
Discern what’s true or make believe.
I hope you choose to live forever.
