What’s that expression? Everything old is new again. Yeah…I’m gonna have to disagree. Because even as we’re in just the second day of a new year, 2022, the world is still spewing out the same old junk. Hate, willful ignorance, intolerance disguised as tolerance. You know, fun stuff like that.
So, everything old is still old.
There’s nothing new about people thumbing their noses at God. And there’s nothing new about how those people are control freaks with an agenda.
But instead of starting off the first couple of days with a regular, run-of-the-mill rant, I’m just gonna share some lyrics I wrote quite a while ago. I believe you’ll quickly notice how they’re more relevant than ever. (psst…there is a video for the song at the bottom)
“Nothin’s Sacred Anymore”
Take the truth and lock it up, and throw away the key.
Winds of change are blowing foul; a dance with destiny.
Blur the face of love and sex and say it’s all OK.
Tell the child it’s just a choice and melt her soul away.
Nothin’s sacred anymore.
Can’t we learn from mistakes when they cut to the core.
Nothin’s sacred anymore.
And should we be surprised since we’ve opened that dark, wide door?
Nothin’s sacred anymore.
Cast your vote for social growth and then say yes to law.
Keep the peace, divide the wealth; the vision Adolph saw.
Hedge the bets and ride the fence; the middle road’s secure.
Then one day you’re head to head with all you must endure.
Nothin’s sacred anymore.
Can’t we learn from mistakes when they cut to the core.
Nothin’s sacred anymore.
And should we be surprised since we’ve opened that dark, wide door?
Nothin’s sacred anymore.
More space and time. More would be sublime.
Someone else can pay…long as I get mine today.
Ain’t nothin’ sacred anymore.

I hope you still hold things sacred in your heart.
Because, for those of us who love Jesus, we know sacred when we see it. And we fully realize how much the tolerant-not-tolerant world hates us for mentioning His name.
You and I didn’t personally open that “dark, wide door.” It was Adam and Eve. But here’s the thing. You and I have certainly walked through that door just as willingly as they did. Over and over again. And it’s almost like we just can’t help ourselves.
Thank God for the One who can (and DID) help us.
If you don’t know Him, I suggest you get to know Him. Right away. If you DO know Him, get to know Him better. Because before you know it, you’ll be where He is. And what you decide in this life determines whether you’ll be with Him forever or just for your moment of judgment.
