Doesn’t matter what you say, clothes are overrated.
I took a look in my closet yesterday. Nope. Not impressed. And I thought about my different closets through all my adult years. Again, nope. Not impressed. No matter where they come from or how much (or little) I paid for them, all my clothes are overrated. And they always were. So, I’m glad I’m gonna stop wearing them.
And I hope you already know how your clothes are overrated, too.
Don’t try to impress me with designer labels. And forget about wowing me with your name-dropping brands. Or your vast collection of Italian leather shoes. Not even your first-run Hollywood evening gowns and tuxes will get me to bat an eyelid. They’re all overrated. And you should stop wearing them.
In fact, I predict that, in spite of all your emotional connection to your clothes, you WILL stop wearing them. Because you’ll either come to your senses. Or your senses will come to you. And you might not like it. But I predict it’s gonna happen. Not because I’m some sort of genius prognosticator (well I guess I am, in a way). But I don’t have to be a genius prognosticator to know it’s gonna happen.
And part of how I know is because it’s happened for every other generation who ever lived.
Yeah, they all came to a stark realization.
No fancy closet full of fancy schmancy designer clothes would or could hold a candle to a wardrobe of pure white.
Unfortunately, most people choose to stick with their overrated clothes. And they follow the furious fading fads no one will remember years from now.
But I urge you, choose garments of white
And live in the heavens of light.
And your clothes won’t wear out.
You’ll be thankful about
Your decision to choose what is right.
(By the way…I hope you understand how I’m talking about the difference between now clothes and Heaven clothes. For now, keep wearing clothes. But invest in the clothes that never wear out. You’ll thank me later.)
