Hmm…let’s talk about a big bang. Sounds like fun. Right? I mean who doesn’t like the bang-up sound of a drum? Not Todd Rundgren. In fact, he wrote and sang a song about it back in the 80’s.
I don’t want to work.
I just want to bang on the drum all day.
And I don’t want to play.
I just want to bang on the drum all day.
OK, I’ve gone from the big bang to Todd Rundgren in less than a paragraph.
How’s that for segues? Or is it a non sequitur?
No, I’m sticking with the segue idea.
Because I can always find a way to connect music with the wonders of the universe. Especially since the one who made me does that very same thing. For example, God said this…
“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
He was basically mocking a man named Job (pronounced Jōbe). Because God wanted Job to realize who’s ultimately in charge of how we all got here.
So, God showed Job a lot of evidence for who’s who. He also said this, and it’s actually good evidence that humans and dinosaurs were on Earth at the same time. Check it out.
“Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox. See now, his strength is in his hips, And his power is in his stomach muscles. He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit. His bones are like beams of bronze, His ribs like bars of iron. He is the first of the ways of God; Only He who made him can bring near His sword.”
Wow. Talk about a big bang on a big drum.
Yeah, the point I’m finally getting to is this. If you’ve just gotta believe in a big bang, believe in the one that might have happened when God created Earth, the universe, and all living things. Because that other evolutionary bang is just a fairy tale. With a terrible ending.
I am not a silly chance…
Not a random circumstance.
I am not a lucky dance
In an accidental place.
I am not a spark of light
That evolved from darkest night.
If you say I did, I might
Have to make a funny face.
