My “earthen vessel” challenges me to a duel every day. I’m sure you can relate. Because everybody faces challenges. But the daily duel is OK because it’s not like I’m alone in the wilderness. I’m not without power. Can you still relate?
Do you sometimes (or often) feel the temptation to simply give up and give in? And that’s probably a rhetorical question. Because I’m sure everyone does at one time or another. The gravity of this world is maybe even stronger than the gravity of this planet. And it pulls on you like lead boots.
Well, maybe here’s what’s going on. When you feel pulled in two different directions, maybe it’s an indicator that your Creator is working to lift you back up. And free you from those lead boots. After all, He says He won’t leave you nor forsake you.
So, if you feel like you’re alone in the wilderness, you’ve lost focus.
God can lift you back up every time you fall. It only requires humility. Admit you’re unable to overcome the desires of “self” without Him, and let His Word live in you. Then, your trials and tribulations won’t overwhelm you beyond recovery. Here’s the awesome truth you should always remember. The one, true, living, loving God of all creation loves you enough to be with you so you’re never alone in the wilderness.
So, even though I’m in this world, but not of it, I know the Earth is also the creation of God. He made a world that has everything you and I need to survive. Oxygen, water, food, sunshine.
And He also made a Way you and I can live forever. That way is Jesus. And I know, one day I’ll go to live with Him. Forever. Isn’t it great to have that confidence and hope? You DO have that confidence and hope, right?
This world can beat me up.
But this world is not my home.
I have a finer place where I will forever roam.
This world’s no easy street.
This world is not so nice.
It costs a lot to leave, but my Father paid the price.
Stay tuned, and…
